10 Cheap or Free Ways to Make Your Computer Life a Little Easier

WinZip A long time favorite used for compressing and decompressing files. IF you have Windows Me or XP and don't have a need to compress files, you can use the operating system's built in decompression support.

Google Search Bar Google, in my opinion, is the best tool available for searching the Internet. With this free tool, you can put the power of Google at your fingertips. (works with Internet Explorer only)
Convert This handy (and free) tool will convert almost anything to anything (ft to yards, cups to tablespoons, Celsius to Fahrenheit and much more!!)
Tape Calculator I love using this tool to figure out and have a 'tape' of long lists of numbers. I don't own an adding machine, but this free tool makes owning one unnecessary (unless you miss the sound of the adding machine)
Adobe Acrobat Reader (now Adobe Reader) If you enjoy reading documents online, need to get tax or other government forms, this free utility is a must for any computer user. In fact, even if you don't use these functions, many software manuals today also require this tool in order to read the manual. Get it today if you don't alreaday have it.
Pic2Mail Adam found this tool and it ranks up there as one of my all time favorites. It resizes your photos quickly and accurately to allow easy and quick email attachments. Did I mention it is also free?!
Print Folders This free utility solves a long standing Windows problem...how to print the contents of any folder. Easy to use and setup and it downloads fast.
End it All2 We all breeze through the screen that tells us to make sure that nothing else is running when installing new software. This free ominous sounding program easily and safely takes care of the problem for us.
Opera THE alternative web browser. Opera comes to us from some good folks in Oslo, Norway. It builds in some very smart browsing features (cookie manager, pop up control, built in Google, etc) into a tightly integrated package. There is a free and a pay version.
Click Book This is the most expensive utility listed here, but easily one of my most used. It takes any content and allows you to print booklets of almost any shape or size. Great for churches, clubs, and almost any business.
