Today we learned about mapping and route planning software and web sites. Specialized web sites showing weather maps, 3D maps, satellite maps, GPS maps, topography maps and more.

Some of the skills we touched on include:

• Using the Zoom function to maximize the usefulness of the software
• Planning stops in a route
• Finding road construction information
• Printing customized maps and directions
• Setting preferences to meet your needs
• And much more!

The software we talked about is Microsoft Streets and Trips and Rand McNally Trip Maker.
