THE
Secret to Successful Computing
Most computer users just want to use their computer as any other
household appliance. However, one extremely important aspect of computing
stumbles many computer users. That skill is file management or the almost art of
how to properly store, find, backup and organize data.
In today's group, we discussed the difference and importance of
drives, folders, sub-folders and files.

Drives = filing cabinets or safes

Folders = 'hanging' folders to organize topics
-
Sub-folders = manila folders to further organize a topic
-
Files = any data we or a program creates...pictures, music,
word processing documents, spreadsheets, etc.
In a graphical form, here is a picture to help visualize and
explain the differences.
Next, we applied this knowledge to learn how to efficiently use
this knowledge in saving, retrieving and backing up files from all sorts of
locations:
