Giving up on Ubuntu

No, I'm not giving on Ubuntu...I still think it is the best operating system to hit the computer world since Windows 95.

My client that I installed Ubuntu for last weekend, decided that doing her AOL email in a Firefox windows was too slow (she has 256K DSL). Unfortunately, that was her only complaint and she wants to return to AOL's proprietary browser/email with Windows XP. Curse AOL, they thwarted a potential success story with my first Ubuntu customer!

However, I don't consider this setback a failure. She actually did quite well and liked Ubuntu, but just couldn't cut the AOL umbilical cord. Setting her computer up also made me create the start of a good "how-to" manual for Ubuntu that covered all the basics any computer user would need starting out with Ubuntu. I will continue to refine and add to that manual for my next Ubuntu customer and hope they last longer than 10 days with Ubuntu.

Maybe next time I will screen out AOL users!

If this helped, consider buying me a beer or an Americano!
