AOL is FREE! Stop paying for it!!

A few months ago AOL changed their business model completely.

AOL has never been a real Internet provider. They are an advertising company that charges subscribers to see their ads.

With the spread of broadband Internet and wiser consumers, AOL has finally realized that people don't like paying $25/mo. to see strategically placed ads and a cluttered interface.

If you are paying for AOL, I am not going to try to convince you that you need to cancel or leave the service.

I will let you know though that AOL has changed their business model and their service is now FREE for broadband users and $9.99/mo. for dial-up users.

It's only Tuesday and I have already seen three clients who are on broadband and they are paying AOL between $10-$25/mo. When I tell them that AOL now provides the service for free and they don't have to pay the monthly fee, they all say the same thing...

"AOL hasn't said anything about that to us."

Switching to the free service is fairly simple.

1. Call AOL and cancel. They may try to talk you out of it, but insist that they cancel.

2. Connect to AOL with your screen name and password. You will connect just fine and you will be able to use all of AOL's services.

If you are a dial-up AOL user and you are paying more than $9.99/mo., make sure to call and have your fee lowered to the new rate.

AOL will not stop charging you the higher amounts unless you ask them to.

If this helped, consider buying me a beer or an Americano!

Firefox ??????

Submitted by Smart Computer User on May 23, 2007 - 9:02am.

My huband listens to your show all the time and came home this saturday and told me to dump AOL and sign up for something called FIREFOX. I am computer illiterate.
Is Firefox an ISP, you know the same thing as AOL and Yahoo and MSN? Are they really free to us nobodies?
Do I have to change my e-mail address?
I would like some answers if you please, If you have time to answer this question, please send the answer to these questions to Congadongroupie@aol.com
Thank You,
Marcie L. Wolfe
