For those of you with old cell phones lying around, check out www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com. You can send your phones to them, and they will figure out how to make the best use of it for our soldiers.

Our family tried a pre-paid first, to see if we liked it enough to commit to a 2 year contract.
We liked it so much, and discovered that it saved me many trips to schools to pick up my kids when they weren't ready to come home, that we did get a plan and are very happy with it - especially when we discovered we could block texting and internet access!!!

They have come a long way! A question to poll in the future might be to ask how many people use exclusively a cell phone and have abandoned land lines.

I never had one of those huge brick cell phones like you used to see on Miami Vice, but I can remember how proud I was to have my first one -- a bag phone that I got in 1989 or 1990. I lugged that thing around everywhere! At that time, I thought it was probably the fanciest thing I would ever own.

Thanks. I will put that in the poll queue. We always like ideas for the poll!
