The download on Internet Explorer caused the IBD charts to work with Firefox.. I'm happy in Paonia.

Gmail Privacy

Submitted by Smart Computer User on July 13, 2008 - 8:44am.

Gmail stores all your emails on their computers, essentially forever. Even if you delete them. And they reserve the right to look at them anytime. In addition, they want to search for patterns in your emails. Use Gmail at your own risk.

Gmail privacy...more information

Submitted by Rick on July 13, 2008 - 9:10am.

First off, no human eyes are ever set on your email at Gmail. They reserve the right to scan your email (with computers) as you open them for indexing and throwing targeted ads (very subtle ads and not in your face like Yahoo or Hotmail) on the side of the screen. The deleted items you empty from trash are deleted from Gmail servers within 30 days. That is a change. Before they were held "indefinitely" even if deleted, but they are indeed deleted now.

Good to know

Submitted by Smart Computer User on July 15, 2008 - 3:18pm.

Hey pops. I'm in the Hollins library right now. I voted "secondary email", but when I get home I'm going to channel my BOW account through Gmail. Because when I'm away from my Mac, Cpanel sucks, and Gmail is at least well designed.

One question, though. If I DO channel my BOW account through Gmail, will I still be able to check it on Mac's mail system when I'm at my own computer?

AVG8 with Firefox

Submitted by Smart Computer User on July 11, 2008 - 9:06am.

Since installing AVG8 with Firefox when I try to open IBD charts at Investors.com I get the message "Firefox has encountered an error and must close". I've put that website on all the exceptions I can find with same result. And AVG 7.5 is not available any longer. Help.

IE?

Submitted by Rick on July 15, 2008 - 7:09pm.

Does the site still work in Internet Explorer? If so the problem is not with AVG, and more than likely, your site might be one of a handful of specialized sites that need the looser security settings and Active X controls that IE allows.

Thanks, IE recognized there was a download missing, after download the chart window at investors.com will open. Too bad it won't work with Firefox.
