Digital photography for realtors

Today Rick and I lectured at the Western Colorado Realtor Ralley, and event we look forward to speaking at each year. Here are some of the notes from the lecture today.

Here is a great digital photography article I found especially for realtors.

We also discussed how to resize pictures before sending via email. This is very important. The program I recommended at the meeting was the Windows Picture Resizer. I should have called it the  Microsoft Picture Resizer since that is what it is actually called.

I also discussed just a handfull of features in the wonderful Picasa program. Picasa is a program that will do the following:

1. Scan your entire computer and catalog all of your photos without changing, moving or resizing them.

2. Allow you to make basic adjustments like highlights, fill flash, cropping, rotation and red eye.

3. Backup all of your digital photos onto CD or DVD in two steps.

4. Create slideshows that can be saved to CD, DVD or email.

I also discussed a great program called Smart Recovery that will retrieve pictures from a memory card that has become corrupt.

After the talk, a lady came up with one of the best questions of the day when it comes to real estate photography - "How do you shade the sunlight from your LCD to see your pictures in daylight?" One answer is the eFilm Pop-Up shade. Look around this site. They make models for a wide variety of cameras.

I forgot to mention two great sites to learn all about any digital camera on the market Digital Photography Review and Steve's Digicams. Each of these sites has links to even more great digital photography related material on the web.

Last, you can find many more great links and resources under the

Section of HelpMeRick.com (the site you are on right now).
