A couple of weeks ago in this column [1], I talked about the reality of cell phone usage in cars and what can be done to help make things a little safer.
Today, I had another idea that will help road warriors like myself. When leaving messages for someone on voice mail, speak your name and number slowly. The person you are calling doesn't know your name and number as well as you do. Leaving the name slowly and the number slowly (and maybe even twice) is very helpful and makes for less pushing of buttons while driving a car.
Less buttons leads to better and faster message taking, which leads to safer roads.
