Ubuntu - Day 2
I'm still smarting from not having my great spam filter on my PC, but I'm giving the spam filter in Evolution a chance to work. It turns out that in order to get the spam filter working properly in Ubuntu's Evolution, you have to do the following:
- Close Evolution
- Click System from your task panel
- Click Administration
- Click Synaptic Package manager
- Find SpamAssasin in the list
- RIGHT click it and then click "mark for installation"
- Click the Apply button
- When the install finishes, restart your computer
- Start Evolution
- Click Edit --> Preferences
- Click Mail Preferences
- Click Junk tab
- Click "Check incoming mail for junk"
- Click Close
- Click Edit --> Plugins
- Find and uncheck the "Bogofilter junk plugin"
- Click OK
- Close Evolution and then restart it
Now when new email comes in, the junk mail will get filtered to the Junk folder. Junk that doesn't get identified, click on and then click the Junk button from the toolbar so that it can "learn" what junk is.

If you are purchasing a new printer, make sure you buy a USB cable with it if you don't already have one. Printers never come with a USB cable and only the best sales clerks will ask you if you need one then help you pick it out.

Why this way?
I think you could have it all done more easily by using thunderbird. You only have to change a couple of options, or add a filter, and you are done.
restart your computer?
Why do you restart your computer after installing spamassassin? Are you sure you have to do that? Normally, you only have to restart your pc after a kernel update.
